In response to the need for quality data to inform decision making, the DDD Programme was launched in 2013, in partnership with the Department of Basic Education and funded by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. In 2016, funding from the First Rand Empowerment Fund enabled the national expansion of the programme.
The Department of Basic Education is our key partner. We work across the Department to collate and analyse data from the South African School and Administration Management System (SA-SAMS), which is then visualised through the DDD online dashboard.
