What we do

TRANSFORMATION OF EDUCATION DISTRICTS IN SOUTH AFRICA
We support district and circuit officials by empowering them with tools and skills for collecting and using good quality data. The ultimate goal is to improve learner outcomes and support government in improving education in South Africa.

OUR LEVER FOR CHANGE

JOB CREATION FOR YOUNG SOUTH AFRICANS
NLF's Professional Development Programme (PDP) and immersion in education districts provides a unique opportunity for young South Africans. In this dynamic two year work experience, our New Leaders develop professional skills while making a valuable contribution to our country.

The Data Driven Districts Programme (DDD)

The DDD Programme is currently NLF’s flagship programme. The programme has been led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation in partnership with the Department of Basic Education. The aim of the programme is to improve learner outcomes by improving the way key educational data is collected and used by officials in the education system to support schools and teachers more effectively.

NLF is the implementation partner on the DDD Programme and provides support to National and Provincial Offices through training and capacity building with tools, processes and skills for collecting and using quality data.  This education data can be used to make decisions that improve efficiencies and ultimately learner outcomes.

News

New Leaders Foundation is pleased to announce that the South African Council of Educators (SACE) has endorsed 8 DDD training programs for a one year period. Educators who attend one of the DDD programs will earn points towards their Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This is a great step forward towards adding value to the training offered by the DDD team.

The DDD Project was featured on the Finweek Money Matters Show as well as in Finweek Magazine. New Leaders Foundation's Managing Director and Founder, Giles Gillett, discussed the roll out of the Dashboard, how it works and the project's progress.
